Making the step change

0

At some point most organisations reach the point where a step change in their use of technology is needed.

For micro organisations this can be hard enough, the owner and the other few people in the business need to focus on day to day operations and do not have the time nor expertise to really think about what they need, never mind research what is possible, evaluate the market, find capable vendors, procure effectively, decide how best to transition from current systems to old and then plan, manage and effect that change. In larger organisations the problems are greatly magnified, with the complexities of different groups, departments, leaders and their different and sometimes competing interests all coming into play never mind the complexities of having a range of different IT solutions already in place. As is the case with micro-organisations leaders and staff are all under pressure, focused on day to day operations required to meet targets and deliver results.

To make step changes effectively these organisations need to avail of external expertise. This expertise needs to provide the board level business acumen required to quickly assimilate the corporate goals and culture, liaise and pull together the views of disparate stakeholder groups at different levels and understand the workings processes and perspectives of different corporate functions. It also needs to understand the IT solutions and services markets, where and how to procure effectively, how to project manage corporate and vendor teams to deliver chosen solutions to meet expected change programme goals.

ITSS delivers this expertise to its clients, not through providing large teams of consultants but by providing Change Programme Directors who have these broad range of skills and the necessary extensive experience to ensure that business change is a successfully effected while the Business maintains its focus on achieving current targets
