‘As a Service’ outsourcing increasingly seen as key to business improvement

Recent research published by HfS Research reveals the current priorities of senior business leaders and their intention to move more towards ‘As a service’ outsourcing opportunities.

The priorities of business leaders include driving down operational costs and introducing cost effective, flexible services. They see the need to for better use of data to provide strategic insights and initiatives that improve the quality of labour while reducing its quantity and increasing automation will be critical to future business success.

To help achieve these goals they wish to move existing transactional based outsourcing relationships towards ‘As a Service’ type arrangements, with business outcome focused agreements that can involve a combination of operating models, enabling technologies and specialist expertise.

To increase business agility organisations want to be able to select ‘plug and play’ pre built business systems and services rather than taking the route of analysing, redesigning and building new process models and supporting IT solutions.

Importantly there is a recognition by many that they do not have the necessary skills internally to make this transition with 56% of leaders at Senior Vice President level and above stating that they need a transformational leader/change agent and need to improve their ability to redesign processes.
